Nature at its best resides in Sironko. Located along the Elgon Mountain and its ranges, Sironko provides breathtaking scenery as the Elgon ranges race into the flat fertile volcanic soils while downward streams cascade from the mountains.
Endowed with rich culture- famous for their circumcision dance, the Kadodi- the opening act for their traditional ceremonies, the Bagisu dominate the district and make up 80%of its populace. Other ethnic tribes include the Itesot, Karimajong, Sabiny, Basoga, Banyole and Bagwere. |

Sironko district was created in 1999 under the Uganda Government’s decentralisation programme aimed at bringing services nearer to the population. - Located in the North Eastern part of Uganda
- Locate along latitude 10 12’27 N and Longitude 240 15’8 E,
- Stands at 3864 feet above sea level.
North of Mbale district, Sironko is bordered by Kenya to the East, Kapchwora in the North East, Nakapiripiriti in the North and Kumi district in the West. |
